We are Bob & Shelley McCarl, retired teachers formerly from Boise, Idaho. We are looking for a house-sitting position in the Northwest for the winter. We are available immediately.
Our qualifications are as follows:
-we owned our house in boise for 20+ years. Built in 1935 and badly redone in the 70s, it needed a great deal of renovating. We did most of the work ourselves, and we are familiar with the upkeep and attention needed to maintain a house.
-We are very reliable and responsible people. We’re not smokers, and drink very little.
-Robert was a wildland firefighter earlier in his career, and understands the need to keep a defensible boundary around property in the intermountain West.
-Shelley is a landscape painter who enjoys painting snow. Ideally, we would like a house in a small town or in the countryside.
We have spent the spring and summer traveling the US and Canada, and are looking for a place to spend the winter months. We loved living in Boise, except for the heat and aridity in the summer, as well as its population growth. We are looking for a western area where we might eventually want to live; house-sitting would give us such an opportunity, without the long-term commitments of buying or renting.
