We have two sons. The oldest lives with his wife in Ft Mill, SC and they have two daughters, 20, and 22, who both attend the University of South Carolina. Our younger son lives in Deerfield, Il with his wife and three year old son.
We raised our family on a farm near the Quad City area, with animals always a large and important part of all our lives. We raised and cared for cattle, hogs, and horses on the farm for many years. Our sons both raised Angus calves for show. During these years we always had 2 or 3 dogs, Dachshunds and Golden Retrievers, and several cats. We also raised Dachshund pups for several years while our sons were young. We currently have an 8 year old Dachshund named Wilbur. Our oldest son Scott carried on the family tradition by raising Dachshunds while his daughters were young and Wilbur came from them. Our sons kid that Wilbur is the third brother.
Mary and I have always had pets and farm animals as an important part of our lives. We both grew up on farms near Aledo, Illinois. Caring for both our pets and farm animals was a fun and important part of our lives from the earliest age. This also has given us a live time of experience in not only day to day care but recognizing and responding to pet health issues. It is very natural for us and something we love doing.
