How about a mom and son team? I am a recently retired NC business teacher (12-31-19) and my son is a 19-year-old college student one class away from completing his associate degree. With Covid 19, our plans have changed. I had planned to work with guest services this concert season as I did the 2019 concert season, and my son was set to start a work internship with Hilton hotels. We currently rent a home in Raleigh, NC.
We sold our home in Chocowinity and moved to Raleigh about two years ago for him to go to school and for me to prepare for my retirement career. With our plans up in the air now, and our lease on a month-to-month basis for the last year, it seems like a good time to seek out a 3-, 6-, or 12-month house sitting assignment and put the majority of our belongings in storage.
My son can complete his one course online, and we can hopefully enjoy a new area whilw we wait for a vaccine. We are both huge animal lovers -- so we would prefer a house sit with pets. Unfortunately, our landlord does not allow us to have any pets and our elderly dog passed about a year before we moved. FYI: My husband passed away from sudden cardiac death in 2004.
We would like to begin our new adventure in July 2020. While neither are particularly handy with repair work, we are pretty good with yard work. Changing light bulbs and air filters is about the extent of my handiness, but I do know how to call repair people. :-)
Thanks for reading our intro. We hope to hear from some of you soon about potential assignments. Neither of us have any kind of record (in fact, I worked in a youth prison from 2016-2018 that required extensive background checks), and I have excellent credit and character references.
