I need to travel to Europe to visit my family. I have 110 acre property with a log cabin, 4 cats, and 6 horses. I doubt the horses will need any attention, unless someone just wants to give them treats like apples. The cats are inside/outside with their own door. I mostly want someone to be here for security reasons. There are a couple of good condition side by sides and many forest trails going through the 1.8 million acre Quachita forest. Several trails on the property also. As long as I have lived here, I have not seen another person, so it is extremely quiet and peaceful. Fiber optic internet, big screen tv. I am not fixed on the dates, I just want to visit my family for 2 weeks in March. Also, if you like fishing, I have an amazing 2 person watercraft and the Dutch creek across the street from the property has just about the best fishing I have found. We have a seperate 2-bed cottage (which we normally rent on airbnb) which you can stay in, own sitting room, bathroom, kitchen also. The cottage is right beside the main house.
The main house is large and old so we just require someone to keep an eye on it and tend to the animals while we're gone. The animals are several cats, three donkeys and chickens.

I am originally from Germany, but have been living in Canada for 20+ years. I have been living on this farm and operating it as a grazing operation for the past 10 years.The farm is nestled in the beautiful Ottawa Valley, right where the rich farmlands of the valley give way to the laurentian shield. The southern part of the farm is mostly pasture, with the northern part reaching into more rocky terrain that is typical for the laurentians. The land borders Long Lake with beautiful emerald water, that can be used for swimming etc. Gatineau park is just a few miles east, and Ottawa/Gatineau is approx. 80 km away... )(swimming is obviously not applicable to this particular stay - except, if you like to do (ice-) cold plunges :-D

We live in a 5000 square foot home on the water. We have two fish and four cats. There is no litter box - the cats go in and out for the bathroom (although we leave a window open for them during the day to do so). They are very independent and just need fresh food, water, and occasional snuggles/treats. The home is very comfortable with a nice kitchen to cook in, restaurants and a park a short walk away, and close to downtown Jacksonville (and other historic neighborhoods). We are eager to find a housesitter that will keep our home tidy and be careful with our animals. We also often have people working at the house on various projects -- housecleaning, home repair, yard work, etc. No one needs to be home for that but I like to give the heads up.
