Hi everyone,My name is Ana and I've recently submitted my PhD thesis at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. I've been a housesitter for over 5 years now, in Australia, Samoa and mostly in New Zealand while completing my degree. I'm currently in Tahiti and will be traveling around for a few months. I absolutely love housesitting and I take it seriously as a job. I spend plenty of time at home (studying, reading and writing), making sure the pets aren't alone. If the pets usually sleep with their owners, I let them sleep in my bed too. All my experiences so far have been really positive and I've loved every single one of the pets I looked after. I take care of them as they were my own/ I also keep my environment tidy as it keeps my mind tidy as well. Here's the link to my Kiwihousesitters profile, since I haven't done much housesitting through other websites, so most of my references are on it - https://www.kiwihousesitters.co.nz/house-sitter-pet-sitter/amaark77 ... read more

Well I've been traveling both inside and outside of the United States for about 10 years now and l'm looking to continue this journey. I've lived in 8 states and 2 countries and I've loved every moment of it. I've held a job since the age of 15 and don't think I'll ever stop working, maybe work less though is the goal haha. We both currently live in Auckland, New Zealand and I work in restaurants as a manager and she works as a caregiver. We are both very respectful of peoples feelings, belongings, property and space. I think we would be perfect for house sitting and hope to possibly house sit along the way seeing as it would be beneficial to both parties. Always willing to talk and give more information and hope to hear back from you all!!! read more

John and I are now retired, prior to retirement John was a pilot and I was involved in IT. We have two children aged 21 and 19, who are now starting out on their own careers. The other two members of our family are our rescue dogs Meeko and Kobi. John and I both love all types of animals, our previous pets have included cats, dogs, lambs and horses. We are also both passionate about travel. Our other big interest is sailing, we have spent a number of years exploring the world on our yacht. My husband and I have spent the last seven years sailing our yacht from Turkey back to New Zealand and we loved every minute. It has given us a chance to explore many exciting places and meet and make friends with some amazing people. As our two children are now grown up, but still living in our family home, (they won’t leave our two dogs Meeko and Kobi), John and I wish to continue exploring New Zealand and the rest of the World. House sitting allows us to continue our travels, while also fore fillin... read more

Rural House Sit Specialists
Ian & Heather: 69 / 63, Retired
If
you have a farm or lifestyle block, you know it's not easy to get away for a
break!
Most house-sitters are lovely people, but they're not "farm sitters"
and don't know how to move stock or check fences, troughs and irrigation.
Ian is a farmer's son, qualified in Agriculture and Horticulture, has extensive
experience with all types of farm animals, including working dogs, and is
competent with all types of farm and garden machinery.
Heather, also from a farming background, has owned horses and ponies and loves
caring for and exercising dogs and cuddling cats.
We're non smokers, physically fit and enjoy excellent health. We'll look after
your pets, livestock and property as if they were our own.
As long term property owners, we've had some wonderful house sitters who looked
after our pets, garden and house, enabling us to travel overseas regularly.
Recently retired, we've now become hous... read more

We, Sue & David, are a mature couple who own a large property in the hill country of New Zealand. We have a farm (beef cattle, a horse stud which our son & daughter-in-law own, and a sheep farm which is leased to a younger farmer). We also have a successful farmstay/fishing lodge business which can host up to 22 people per night. Now that we have retired from the sheep farming (though not the cattle) David has become the gardener on our 4 acres of garden. The lawns take 5 hours a week to mow, on a ride-on mower!Sue is the chef for the guests, and we all work in the cleaning and maintenance of our 2 holiday houses and our in-house accommodation. So we are well used to ensuring that everything is kept clean and well organised. In the New Zealand winter, we take people on guided tours of Europe, as we speak French, German and a little Italian. We would prefer to house sit in Europe, and in the months from June to October. We have been travelling to Europe nearly every year fo... read more

Living by the ocean we're experienced with boats, kayaks and moorings. We both enjoy keeping busy!
