My wife and I have always dreamed of global travel to experience other cultures, people and nature. As of 2024 after 24 years of marriage, one freshman and one sophomore in college we were free to pursue our "gen-x empty nest gap year". Most of you will be familiar with all those terms, however that might be the first time you are seeing them all run together. Our plans include staying from 3 to 6 months and slow travel, really living and being integrated into the daily live of various cities. We have completed our pilot stay in Cuenca, Ecuador this last SEP - NOV. Now we are ready to leave our home in Los Angeles, downsize all of our stuff and see what adventures await us. We have been long time users and very happy with Airbnb, Homexchange and other platforms. Since then we have lived in Oaxaca, MX, Medellin, CO, Denver, CO, USA, Puerto Escondido, MX, Bristol, UK, Tirana & Saranda, Albania, New Orleans, LA, USA and most recent Mexico City, MX.
