About Justin Gray:

Greetings! My name is Justin and I am an adventurer. I’ve been to all 50 states and more than a dozen countries, traveling by bike, bus, train, plane, van, and out-stretched thumb. I’ve worked on farms, built houses, tended livestock, helped train horses and dogs, installed computers and network systems, managed technical/financial/construction projects, organized conferences/seminars/events, coordinated national logistics, served as a teacher, coached teams and individuals, and performed dozens of other odd jobs in between. From all of these I’ve cultivate a range of skills, knowledge, and instincts which allow me to thrive in any environment and leave it better than when I found it. That include your home!

I’m equally comfortable navigating the city as I am operating independently in remote settings. I am have experience tending to all styles of barnyard animals, as well as pets and plants of domestic and exotic varieties. I am allergic to cats, but it is something I have no problem managing if you have friends of the feline varieties. I’ve also done a wide variety of house work over the years, and am open to helping with repairs/installation of many physical and technical features. I currently work remotely as a technical project manager, and run a remote accountability coaching program. If internet is not available at your location, I can provide my own ( and my opt to do so anyways). I own very little, and often live out of my van for months at a time.

I’m the youngest of 6 kids, having grown up on a small heirloom produce farm in Ohio. I don’t drink, smoke, toke, vape, beg, or take. I have a daily practice of exercise and meditation, and am always working on something. I don’t party, I keep my volumes low, and my attitude positive. I’m environmentally conscious, maintain an healthy yet practical diet, and endeavor to operate with daily intention. I am kind, calm, clever, patient, and practical.

I had the opportunity to go out of town for a surprise holiday and needed someone to watch my house and cats last minute. Justin was recommended through a mutual friend and actively interested in helping out to support my opportunity to travel. Initially I was only going to have him stay a couple days until other coverage was available, but after meeting him I felt immediately comfortable and impressed with his demeanor and experience. While I was gone, he replaced my kitchen sink and shower heads, adjusted the doors and slides on some of my cabinetry, and fixed my yard's irrigation timing. When I returned the house was in top shape, the plants and animals looked great, and everything was clean.

Justin has since become my go-to contact anytime I need someone to watch the house, tend to the cats and plants, or get something taken care of. He's very kind and considerate, and is always willing to help. He's a wealth of knowledge, and a real class act. You can't do better when it comes to house sitters, and you'd be missing out if you don't take the chance to meet him and hear all the stories of his travels.

In May of 2022 I had to undergo an emergency medical procedure that kept me in the hospital for over a week. Justin, whom I'd known for about a year at that point, volunteered to take care of my house and garden while I recovered. He followed all my silly instructions about how to water my plants. He even refilled my bird feeders and cut the lawn. Even after I'd returned back home, he came over for the next few weeks to check on me and help with chores while I recovered. He is generous, kind, careful, and responsible. As house sitters go, he's about as good as they come.

Justin came to me as a volunteer to help with a building project on my land and was quickly elevated to the position of leader due to his skill, wisdom, and work ethic. After the project concluded, he continued to keep in touch and offered to help whenever there was opportunity to do so, from taking care of my pets to helping re-roof my home.

Several times he provided coverage for my homestead, watching it while I was out of town. He was very good at keeping me in the loop about what was going on, and providing clear details of anything that happened while I was gone. He was very responsible, and kind, and patient with me. I feel blessed that he came into my life, and am thankful for all the help he provided. He is welcomed here whenever he visits Maui!

Justin supported me as a live-in project manager for a property I secured during COVID. For three months, he coordinated renovations for my condo and handled logistics and budget to ensure everything was ready to go when I was ready to move from my home in Seattle. He was great at keeping me up to date, and quickly figured out what details not to bother me with. By the time I arrived, he was a local celebrity with all the locals, and had mapped out all the best places to go. He's since returned several times at my invitation, and helps me with repairs since I don't get around as well anymore. He's a great guy. You should definitely hire him!

Justin has been a house and dog sitter for me over the past several years. I met him through my girlfriend and continued to hire him even after we broke up. My dog, Copper, responded very well to him, and Justin understood how to behave and help Copper without any instruction, which helped me know I could trust him. Since then, he has been my go-to dog sitter, even when he was out of state. It was worth it to fly him in just to make sure Copper was cared for. He also always left the house in tip top shape, and often took it upon himself to repair small things around the house that needed fixing. Since I'm disabled, that kind of generosity means a lot to me. Justin is a great friend and I appreciate how he takes care of the world around him. Thank you, Justin!

Maia And Todd

Homeowner in Sammamish, Washington

We both have jobs which, at the time, required frequent travel and often on very short notice. Additionally, we have two dogs, a garden, and a house full of plants, all of which require regular attention. Justin was tremendously flexible, willing to stay at the house at a moment's notice, taking great care of the dogs, and keeping the plants in great shape. During weeks when our time was pressed, he was gracious enough to help with the dogs, groceries, yard work, and general house cleaning. Justin was an excellent house sitter, and we will definitely keep him in mind for future opportunities.

Homeowner in Cleveland, Ohio

Justin kept an eye on our three houses while we took a vacation to visit our kids in Texas. It was getting to be snowy, and he kept the driveways clear for the tenants. He handled our peculiar trash and compose preferences with skill, and left the house in better condition than they were when we left.
