Occupy the Ohana unit of our 3br home, and accommodate and clean up after "Home Exchange" visitors, perhaps one group every 1-2 months. Must mow lawn, occasionally clean up fallen palm fronds, and maintain catchment water tank.

We don't care about your personal life, but you must not be pro-violence Trumpian fascists, or religious fanatics, as we don't feel safe with such people these days. Must know what "deep cleaning" is and able to do it, with references. State your experience with house cleaning and yard maintenance up front; inquires without specifics will be ignored. This house is many miles from the beach, or any scenic spot for that matter, in a rural area, though very close to a major highway. Must have a cell phone.
Our ideal caretaker is either already living in Hawaii, or has done caretaking here and knows something about water catchment systems and other peculiarities of our island life.
This is a *great* opportunity for the right person, but we're not looking for someone who just wants to try out Hawaii because it sounds cool, or go to the beach every day. It's ok if you have a job besides caretaking, but it must not get in the way of the (really very modest) duties. You pay nothing except the electric bill, which is typically around $30/month as we have a solar PV system; the utility payment is actually just to make sure you don't use the dryer or other major electric loads after sunset.
