We're buying this property on Wednesday 7/25, but we won't arrive until Sunday 7/29. We're looking for a house sitter who can pick up the keys from our realtor and babysit the house until we arrive. This would be a paid assignment.
The assignment includes taking care of our cat (likely to arrive via a separate driver on Friday 7/27) and also being on hand in case the moving truck (containing our furniture) also arrives before we do. (The moving truck might arrive during your assignment, on 7/27, 7/28, or 7/29, or it might not arrive until after your assignment is finished.)
The house will contain no furnishings when you arrive, and there will be no Internet connection. You would have to bring a sleeping bag (due to the lack of beds and furnishings) but of course you are free to use the refrigerator and showers (but would need to bring your own towels and soap).
We are asking you to be on hand when the moving truck arrives. We would hope that you could provide some basic guidance to the movers on where to leave furniture, based on our instructions. However, we are explicitly NOT holding you responsible for correct placement of furniture. We are in a difficult position with our moving plans (in that we can't easily reach the new home before the moving truck does) and are asking you to be there for us, but we fully expect and realize that it is not the same as if we were there ourselves, and we don't expect everything to be put in the "right" place. We will re-arrange furniture as needed, after we arrive. |
