WHAT I HAVE TO OFFER:
nice, unique home -
Wonderful 1887 property in the midst of restoration. The top floor (3rd floor) is 95% completed and that is where the house sitter would stay. The top floor has its own kitchen, living room, study/2nd bedroom and full bath. The bath features a huge claw foot tub/shower and a large, brand new vanity with granite countertops. The newly remodeled kitchen has solid cherry cabinets, granite countertops, built-in desk, Dacor oven, cooktop and warming drawer, plus dishwasher and washer/dryer. There are pine floors throughout. If this arrangement works well, house sitter might stay longer or indefinitely (as would later agree), as long as I am covered when I need to leave town for work.
amenities - Highest speed residential internet service available and basic cable TV, plus HBO
convenient location - located within a block of public transportation (bus) and within a mile of a shopping mall with light rail access.
security - The home has a manned alarm system (Vivint) in addition to eight security cameras, which can be viewed from any laptop, iPad or iPhone, as long as there is internet access. It is located in a transitional area with a high % of African American residents, so you need to be OK with the neighborhood demographics. WHAT I NEED FROM YOU:
cat care - I have two precious, affectionate, adult, female kitties, who need love and attention. I have automated their care as much as humanly possible, so most of the effort is just in spending time with them. There is a feral colony in the neighborhood that I put food and water out for, as well. So, a cat-lover would be most welcomed.
lawn/garden care - My home sits on a 1/4 acre corner lot and would require lawn care (trash pick-up, mowing, trimming, weed/vine control) during Spring, Summer or Fall. I have a self-propelled, gas-powered walk-behind mower, weed-eater and edger for your use.
utilities - I will pay for Cable TV, Internet, trash, recycling, Vivint security, security cameras, light bulbs, cat supplies and $40/mo. toward the water bill (paid directly to the city). I do ask that you pay the gas & electric and any balance on the water bill and to put both bills in your own name. (The home has a SmartMeter, so you can monitor your own daily usage of gas and electric.)
contractor access - I may need for you to allow various home improvement contractors occasional access to the lower levels of the home in coordination with your own convenience.
written agreement - Must be willing to sign a written agreement prior to arrival for move-in. Agreement may be edited if you would to like to add something or revise something and we both agree.
security deposit - Depending on circumstances, I may request a fully refundable security deposit, which can be kept in escrow until your move-out. |
