Hello, we are heading south for Christmas with our kids. We need someone to care for our little budgie bird, Twiggy. Twiggy is pretty easy to care for as she just needs seed and water. She is a free roaming bird so you need to be comfortable having a friend on your shoulder lots of the time. She is a pretty fun little character with a big personality and all those that have cared for her have enjoyed it. Ideally, we’d like our Housesitter to come the day before we depart and stay until the day we arrive home. So our dates will be Dec. 17 to Dec. 27th.
As to our home, we live in beautiful Parksville BC, right beside Rathtrevor Provincial Park. We are about 3km to the grocery store and town (an easy walk) and the beach is about 1km at best. Since it is winter, if you are a skier Mt. Washington in the Comox Valley is just over an hour drive. There is endless hiking here, starting 1km away in Rathtrevor. Biking is superb, year round and there is a group (over 55 years) that anyone can join. Orca, humpback, seals, sea lions and porpoise can frequently be seen passing by at the beach. We have Pickleball available indoor through Parks and Rec and a pool in Qualicum. It is a lovely place to live with lots to offer, including our mild weather.
We prefer you arrive the day before we leave and leave after we return home. There is a separate area for you to stay downstairs. Should you require to stay a day or two extra that can be discussed.
