Assignment Description:

Need someone to watch the place and care for the animals for 5 days.  May 17-May21. We live 10 miles south of Columbus, TX in Altair. Right behind Rice High School. We are in a secluded lot on 5 acres. There are neighbors, but you can't see them. The entire 2nd floor is devoted to guest rooms.  You will have a large bedroom with a very good mattress and a full, attached, private bath. We have 2 female bull terriers. One is 10 and likes to lay around 90% of the time. She does take a pill in the morning and evening.  Put a little peanut butter on it and hand it to her.  The other is almost 4 and is actually quite calm for a dog of that age. Likes to play fetch for about 5 minutes at a time. We have chickens, guineas, geese, peacocks and tilapia. Pretty easy care. Open the doors in the morning, close the doors at night, fill up the feed buckets maybe once during this time, toss in a cup of food to the tilapia. Oh, and collect and eat as many eggs as you can! We get around 7 dozen chicken eggs, half to one dozen duck eggs and a few goose eggs most days.  They have to be collected daily.

We have a couple of freezers, a fridge, 2 pantries all overflowing with food which is up for grabs to our sitters. FREE FOOD! That always gets my attention. :-) We have high speed wifi and a car available.

Now for the hard part.  We are professional Bull Terrier breeders.  We just bred Millie, the 4 year old.  If the breeding is successful, she should be birthed before we leave, but will require 24-7 attendance and attention to make sure the mom doesn't lay on and smother a puppy.  We have a baby monitor and if you hear a pup squealing, you have to come running.  Pretty much cancels out any opportunity for sight seeing.  We are quite reasonable and expect some sort of fee for this type of assignment.  It's a business expense after all.  If you're up for this, then we're good to go!  At $1000 per puppy, can't afford to lose any!!  Of course, if the breeding doesn't take, then sight seeing comes back into the picture because the little farm is not 24-7 like new puppies.  We will know for certain at least a month before our departure...either she's getting REAL big...or she's not!

Thanks
