Assignment Description:

I am a consultant considering a short-term assignment that would require me to be in Ottawa and occasionally overseas for the next 3 months (approximately - exact dates yet to be determined). I am looking for a reliable house/pet sitter (or sitters) to sit on a regular basis anywhere from 3 - 5 days  or for the full duration of the contract - about 3 months.

The House: Clean, cute and cozy 1 bedroom open-concept cottage/house located on the picturesque and historic Île-d'Orléans (featured in 501 Must-Visit Islands book). It has always been used as a full-time home (not a weekend getaway) so it has all the modern conveniences and is well-heated in the winter. Great kitchen for those who love cooking (only thing missing is a dishwasher). I also have high-speed wireless internet. St. Francois is a village of about 500 people situated on the north-eastern tip of the island. The island attracts thousands of tourists in the summer and early fall but is very peaceful in the winter. Only 25 minutes drive to downtown Quebec City. Quiet rural location with spectacular mountain view and forest in the back. During winter it is not unusual to see deer or even moose walk past the house or across the street. Many outdoor activities available on the island including skating cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and there is a free bus to the Mt.Ste-Anne Ski and I think a few other local ski hills. There is a beach about a minutes' drive from the house which is a nice place to walk the dogs and watch the boats go by - even in winter. The driveway is cleared of snow by a local farmer so there is very little snow-shoveling to be done in winter.

The Dogs: "The Ladies" are 9 and 10 year old border collie crosses (mother and daughter) who are well-behaved, playful and affectionate. During winter they tend to stay indoors but they are very relaxed and mostly nap on their beds and enjoy looking out the many windows. They love daily walks but equally happy to chase the ball in the yard if someone is kind enough to keep throwing it.
