5 bed New England style farmhouse with deck on five acres of land east of Atlanta, Georgia. We have a spaniel and three cats, one of whom needs daily eyedrops. The trees, flowers and herbs on the deck will need watering and there is a small vegetable garden which would appreciate minor care and harvesting. The large pond is home to half a dozen Muscovy ducks who are fed daily (they will come and stare at you through the windows if you're late). Near supermarkets, shopping, gym and I-20. Downtown Atlanta is about 30 minutes drive away, outside of rush hour.
This is a large property and not suited to someone with little experience of home ownership or country life. The house has its quirks and even cranky moments. While it's in the greater metro area, it does back on to 400 acres of woods and there's a lot of wildlife. The cats are quite likely to bring you the occasional frog or chipmunk (usually but not always undamaged) and the barn has a resident rat snake - quite harmless and rarely seen but it could give someone a fright. |
