About this Assignment

- Each should have clean driving licences, and no criminal history (may be checked)
- Also, moderate drinking habits only
Ideally the family have children matching in age with ours !
If arriving without a car, a small (manual) insured car can be provided for those with clean driving records. All efforts are made to ensure that our housecarers are comfortable, happy and are enjoying the delights of France. If one has any particular skills or talents, either artistic or practical, we definitely encourage any creativity.
Utilities are provided by us (including wifi).
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
We are looking for couples who like to be active in the garden and can be part of our current projects : trimming, pruning, mowing, painting, etc...and clothing the gate at night.
We have two kids (12 and 9) who loves speaking english and always want to improve their skills. They'd love to spend a moment every day speaking english to keep on practicing (totally informal though).
We also have a lovely outdoor dog (almost 3 yo) called Havane who will need love while we are away (not very often though). She is a Beauce'Shepperd or "Bas-rouge".
What are the good features of the property and location
We live in a beautiful post Renaissance style Castle in a remarkably good condition, situated between Tours and Poitiers, a region famed for its history and beauty.
The Chateau operates as a family home. The grounds consist of a small woodland area, this has paths for nature walks and abundant wildlife, a swimming pool (not heated,) barns welcoming weddings and receptions, a greenhouse and ample lawn areas, a 2 bedrooms farmhouse with its own garden available for an English speaking family of house-sitters and the 1 bedroom gate cottage also available for a couple of English speaking house-sitters.
The property is located in an idyllic location in France, and is only 700 meters away from the nearest village with bakery, bar, post-office, library and an itinerant service of butcher, fish merchant, pizza maker and grocery, (each of them twice weekly.)
The village also has a Catholic Church with services every Sunday.
The nearest large town is less than 5km away and features a mainline high-speed train connection (TGV.) We are only 1 hour and 15 minutes from Paris by train. We are also close to all the castles of the Loire Valley as well as many local attractions. Futuroscope Park, Golf, Trekking, Horse Riding, Bicycle Tracks, Hot air Balloon, Lake Sailing and many more.

WE ARE OFFERING THE 2/3 BEDROOM FARMHOUSE SET ON THE EDGE OF THE WOODLAND AREA AND VERY
PRIVATE.
It is very well equipped and obviously more Human Sized to live in ! We must point out that the two first floor bedrooms are adjoining. The separate lounge on the ground floor has a sofa bed, this easily converts to a third bedroom if required.
IN THE MEANTIME WE ARE OFFERING THE ONE BEDROOM GATE COTTAGE WITH ITS SMALL PRIVATE GARDEN TO A COUPLE WITH NO CHILDREN. |
