Greetings! We are a family that built and run a lodge in the Patagonic Andes, Province of Chubut, Argentina.
The place is 18 kms South of the town of Corcovado, 380 kms South of Bariloche. It is located in the slope of a mountain, half way between the peaks and the valley of the Corcovado River. It is immersed in the wilderness, many streams drain out of springs, the pure water we drink, as pure as it can be!
Ever since we started in 2003, we did most of the work ourselves.
There is no electricity network, so we use a power generator only when needed (you will need to bring a flashlight), until we put to work again the micro hydroturbine.
The house is heated by radiant floor and the water is heated in a big firewood boiler.
There is no internet connection, but there is cell-phone coverage. It is a quite remote location, so you should be able to be away from civilization for a while.
While life up here in the country is very peaceful and enjoyable, it requires also a lot of hard work.
The daylight in summer (December through March) goes from 7 Am to 10 Pm approximately. |
