Hello there!
My husband, Alf, and our son, Cooper, live in coastal Massachusetts USA with our 9 year old dog, Pilot- a well-trained and quiet Staffordshire terrier. We will consider house-sitting assignments all over the world but are particularly interested in a long-term assignment in the UK for a period of 1-2 years, beginning in August 2022 and continuing until Summer 2024. We are educated, professionals (Bachelors for me, Masters for my husband) - and are both happy to submit to a background check, credit check, etc. We are homeowners in Massachusetts and are interested in housesitting opportunities in all areas as a way to see the country and the world. Our son is enrolled in virtual school, so as long as we have dependable wifi, we are good to go!
We can provide excellent character references. My background is 20 years as a small business owner, catering to celebrities (authors and prominent business people) who selectively do speaking appearances around the globe. My forte is being incredibly kind, efficient, effective and discreet in my work. Confidentiality is key.
My husband, Alf, 74 yrs old, is a semi-retired British citizen / long term resident of the USA, who taught in the US public school system for many years, ran a birding board game business and a documentary film making business, and ultimately established and ran an organic farm program at an all boys boarding school for 8 years. He is a birder, gardener, hiker, climber and soccer/football enthusiast. Our son, Cooper, is a bright, friendly, respectful 9 year old (as of the day I'm typing this - 10/27/21) and in the 4th grade. We'll enroll him in the school district in the town where the long-term assignment is located. We'd like to bring our dog with us wherever we settle for the 1-2 year assignment. Our dream would be a stone cottage / guest house on a larger property that we'd look after for homeowners who use their property intermittently throughout the year. If it was by the sea: Even better! If it was in a beautiful village with a wonderful school system: That would be HEAVEN.
For shorter term house-sitting projects located outside of our geographic region of New England, we would not bring our dog -- it would be the three of us. Strong wifi service is a must due to my virtual business and our son's schooling. We will gladly consider assignments with pets and plants / garden responsibilities.

If any situation should arise while you are away, we will immediately contact you and handle details smoothly and well. I wasn't able to meet Amy and her husband and Pilot, the dog, because I live in Los Angeles. My house cleaner says the cottage was left neat and clean and that's good enough for me. Amy is welcome back any time!

Amy, Alf and Cooper (and their dog Pilot) were wonderful guests in all possible ways -- they took excellent care of our home and left it in a great condition. They also communicated to us about a few details around the house that needed attention, and were extremely patient, understanding, and friendly as we worked to take care of them. Amy and friends plus dog were a delight to have as guests at our coastal Maine cottage. They were very respectful of the property and left the cottage clean. All of our communications prior to and during their stay were clear. We would enjoy having them stay with us in the future.

I nominate Amy for my "Best Guest Ever" Club! Absolutely a 5-Star Airbnber. She aces all points: considerate, communicative, respectful, quiet and very friendly. And as other hosts have mentioned, she is SUPER clean and truly a delight to host. She really takes the time to leave the space in perfect order. On top of that, she was accommodating and understanding of a plumbing improvement that needed to be attended to in my apartment. I was so grateful for her help and for allowing me to address a leaky gasket while she was there. I highly recommend her to others and hope to get the chance to host her again.
