The House: We have a beautiful, 4 bedroom, 4 bath, 4000 sq. ft. home with a media room with 70" HDTV, upstairs game room and dry bar (not stocked, sorry!), open floor plan, in ground pool and spa. Beautiful landscaping and plenty of places to lounge outside. We hope you will enjoy our home while making sure our animals are well cared for.
The Neighborhood: Our neighborhood has access to two fitness centers and tennis courts. We are close to golf (Augusta Pines, Willow Creek, many others), bike and running paths, a large park (Burroughs) with a stocked lake and dog park in back. Great, quiet neighbors. This is definitely "the 'burbs" but we are a stone's throw from "the country" and equestrian pursuits and not too far from the city, either.
Proximity to Houston & The Woodlands: Only 5 miles from The Woodlands Waterway, Mall, Market Street and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Ampitheatre. 35 miles from downtown Houston, museums, aquarium, NASA Space Center, Minute Maid Park, Reliant Center and Toyota Center. A CityPass is less than $50 per person and allows you to see 5 of Houston's top attractions. We will leave our Space Center passes and Museum of Fine Art membership passes for you to use while you stay. Fly into George Bush International Airport (IAH), and you're a short 30 minute drive/taxi ride to our house.
Our Pets: Two
dogs, two cats, a bunny and a beta fish.
10+ year old Husky/Border Collie mix. She's smarter than
everyone else in the house and a little "above it all". She LIVES to go
on walks, doesn't mind a leash, and has never met a stranger. She even
says "good morning" and will do tricks for treats (though she's a little
slow about it these days).
1.5 year old Shih Tzu. Adorable as all get out and it's a
good thing, because - as my husband says - he's worthless. Except for
the cute factor. He's got that in spades. Hugo is happy doing whatever
you're doing. We are not "dog whisperers" by any means, so he's not
perfectly trained and thinks everyone is in love with him and so he
likes to jump. But he will sit if you insist.
Jackhammer - a big, fat tabby cat. Likes to eat and nap. Typical cat.
Alyeska - a sweet, curious but shy long haired cat. You'll see her
skulking around, meowing . . . she might even come sit near you. She may
or may not allow you to pet her.
Sir Bentley Rocket - a male lop eared rabbit. Super friendly once
you get to know him. We keep him in a room away from the other animals
since he's a natural prey animal to dogs and cats and he's a new
arrival.
The beta fish - He needs food occasionally - the biggest challenge is remembering he's
here. :)
