Kublai, Linus, and the two of us live in a well-situated house in the
east Toronto neighbourhood of Cliffside along Lake Ontario. We're
within a short walk/drive or nice hike of beaches, swimming, tennis,
various parks, bars & pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, and public
transit.
We need someone, preferably a couple, to take care of them for a few weeks throughout the year.
We are looking for a responsible, attentive, and fun-loving person or
couple for our two friendly boys. Kublai, our GSD, is a bundle of
energy and requires a lot of exercise if he isn't going to daycare so a
long walk or two would be perfect. Playing catch in the back garden is
also a pastime he enjoys, and he'll try to play indoors as well in the
evening! He is almost non-stop. Kublai is fine in all weather except
extreme heat, but he loves his paddling pool and will jump at the chance
to go swimming in the lake!
Our rescued coonhound-beagle Linus enjoys his walks as well, and will
run alongside bicycles for a short while. But never off-leash! He will
run away. Most of all he enjoys basking in the sun and cuddling up at
night time. He gets very scared during thunderstorms and needs someone
who understands dogs to make sure he's okay.
There are many options for walks in the area but we require someone
with good knowledge of dogs and is capable of controlling two strong
boys when they get excited or catch a scent.
They have a specific diet (raw/paleo) and require someone willing to
measure, keep track of, and sort out meals and vitamins. Kublai has some
special needs due to kidney issues which requires a specialised
management plan and diet and someone with the ability to give simple
medications.
A rudimentary knowledge of taking care of plants is also important.
Wifi & hi-speed internet, Fibe TV (w/ Netflix and Crave),
XBox/Wii, billiards, fully-equipped chef's kitchen, and laundry onsite.
Fully-enclosed back garden. Safe, very quiet, well-to-do, and
dog-friendly neighbourhood. Ample parking. Walking distance to pubs and
restaurants, as well as convenience shops, supermarkets, take-away food,
gym, parks, and churches. Easily accessible via the GO train
(Scarborough Stn) & TTC (Kingston Rd #12 bus from VP subway station
(~15 min) or Kennedy #20 bus from Kennedy subway (~10 min)). An
off-leash dog park is a 10 minute walk away as well as the Rosetta
McClain Gardens and access to hiking paths to the waterfront. Lake
Ontario and Bluffer's beaches is also accessible via Bluffers Park, 7
min drive/40 min walk. The famous Beaches neighbourhood is very close.
Downtown Toronto is also very accessible via GO (20 mins), TTC (50 mins
or by car (30 mins).
