House Sitting in Dublin, Ireland

Location:   Dublin, Ireland

Assignment Description:

These dates are a rough estimate at the moment. I need to finalise my travel plans.

A cozy, bright 2 bedroom terraced cottage where the river Liffey flows into Dublin Bay. A 25 minute walk to the city centre, the area is quiet and serene and contains every possible amenity: parks, beaches, playground, sporting pitches, marina all within a 25 minute walk of the city centre.
Very good public transport links are right in the neighbourhood and it is a 25 minute cab ride from Dublin airport. But there are also very good bus links to the airport.

The house is equipped with cable tv, wireless broadband, washer and dryer, gas fired central heat.

There is a dog resident who is the primary reason for a house sitter. The dog is a 4+ year old lurcher (greyhound/wolfehound mix) who is  quite energetic and bossy.  She requires regular bathroom walks and a lengthier walk where she can run off some of her energy once a day at a minimum.  She goes to doggy daycare most days but in August they are likely to be closed for at least part of the time I will be away.

The dog is a handful and can be hard work if you let her (see previous reference to being bossy.)  She cannot be left off the lead except on the beach at low tide.   If she escapes you will be running around the neighbourhood for upwards of an hour to catch her.  She will eat your dinner right off your plate if you leave it where she can reach it and she will chew your phone charger if you leave it plugged in once you take the phone out.  We love her dearly though she is high maintenance in many ways.  But when she is tired out she is a couch potato and if you let her she will sleep with you all night.  But if you lock her out of the bedroom she will happily make herself comfortable on the couch.
