We have a small property in the foothills of the Oregon Cascades. Our land includes forest, pasture, a nice vegetable garden and orchard, none of which needs much attention except making sure the auto irrigation system is working and enjoying whatever comes ripe in the garden. We have two horses and two cats that need care while we travel. The horses need stabling each night, turned out each morning and stalls cleaned. One cat is allowed out during day, the other is indoors full time. They both need love and attention. This is a somewhat remote place, nicely quiet, lots of wildlife, and a small group of neighbors. Great Internet service, but spotty cell service. The bigger cities Portland and Salem are about 50 minutes away. Our closest towns are Silverton and Molalla which are about 20 minutes drive. Lots of hiking, biking, and nature opportunities here. |
