We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children and going away on holiday to Tanzania in July. We are looking for a kind and reliable person/couple to house sit our lovely farmhouse and garden in the North Devon countryside and look after our animals whilst away. We have 1 very meek, gentle dog (labrador x whippet/collie), 1 ridiculously friendly cat, 2 curious small pygmy goats who love to be taken for a walk on a lead from time to time, and possibly some ducks if the shelter is built by then. We live in a beautiful area of the South West - very rural nestled in countryside amongst the Devon lanes, yet only 20 minutes from the big open beaches of the Atlantic ocean. Wonderful coastal path walking, deserted coves to swim in, surfing and body boarding around us. We are about 10/15 minutes from the main towns here: Barnstaple, Torrington and Bideford so you are near to shops, theatre and restaurants. Our only expectation really is that you live with consideration for our lovely neighbours as we live by a working farm, walk the dog each day, give the goats some attention as they are very friendly and that you keep the house as clean and tidy as you find it, and definitely ensure it's hoovered/dusted/cleaned when we get back. I would do the same for you upon your arrival. Other that that, enjoy the area and having a lovely holiday here. |
